The Board of Directors of Longhorn Publishers Plc wishes to inform all shareholders and stakeholders that it has appointed Mr. Maxwell Wahome as the Acting Group Managing Director effective immediately. Mr Maxwell Wahome joined the Group in September 2016 and has been serving as the Chief Operations Officer.
Mr Wahome holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting) from the University of Nairobi and he is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Strategic Planning from the Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh Business School. Mr Wahome previously worked in the Assurance Practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers Nairobi and Johannesburg for 11 years.
This appointment follows the acceptance by the Board of the notice of resignation of the Group Managing Director, Mr Simon Ngigi, with effect from 12 July 2018 following his decision to leave the Group to pursue personal interests. Mr Ngigi will continue to serve the Group over the next three (3) months to facilitate a smooth transition in the leadership of the Group.
Mr Ngigi joined the Group in May 2015 as the Managing Director and has, over the last three (3) years, led the successful implementation of the Company’s 2015-2018 strategy. The Board takes this opportunity to thank Mr Ngigi for his dedicated service to the Group during his tenure as the Group Managing Director and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
